Definitions

Here is a list of definitions that I will update as more terms appear in my posts:

A:

AGM: Short for Absorbed Glass Mat, a form of lead acid. It is a popular choice for robots because unlike regular lead acid batteries they do not spill acid if broken. The acid is as the name suggests absorbed into glass mats.

AH: Short for Amp hour. It is used as a measurement of the capacity of batteries as the duration of power as it'll put out the listed AH rating for one hour then be dead. So a 33AH battery can put out 33 Amps for one hour before being completely dead.

Amp: short for Ampere, the measure of electrical current. Also abbreviated as mA(milliamps), µA(microamps), MA(mega amps).
