Arduino Morse Code Keyer/Oscillator

Recently I acquired my Ham Radio license and after upgrading from Technician to General class I decided to build a Morse Code oscillator/keyer. I started by building an Iambic paddle from Plexiglass PCboard pieces, some scrap wood, and screws. I will improve on the design as many factors are far from suitable. Here are a few photos of it and the basic design sketch of it. The basic idea is that the pc board on the side touches the screw from the corresponding side depending on which side is pressed. That effectively short circuits the two wires together. Now I tried experimenting with it a lot and I had problems with the If and While commands in the Arduino IDE but after a long time experimenting I finally found the idea that I could have it play two tones and then put those into the paddle so when I pressed the paddle the center wire will get the tone from one of the two wires. ROS Tutorials: Configuring your robot

Welcome back to part 3 of our series on getting started in ROS. Today we will setup the robot that we will be using. For beginners I reccomend a 2 motor platform such as a electric wheelchair(That is what I am using) or a Roomba base. If you want to shell out the cash and get a premade kit, just get a turtlebot . They are pricey but they work out of the box with as little work on your part as possible. If you choose the turtlebot you have all the code done for you. It is preferable that the platform is large enough to hold a laptop and, if you choose, a Microsoft Kinect. We will use the Kinect later for SLAM ( S imultaneous L ocalization A nd M apping). My setup uses an electric wheelchair with custom control circuitry, some scrap wood, and a nightstand bolted onto the chair as a platform. I admit that is crude but it works for me. ROS freenect_stack with Kinect Model 1473

So here is the way I did it: I uninstalled all copies of openni/openni2 from my computer with this command sudo apt-get remove ros-indigo-openni* Then I installed the all of the freenect tools that are on ROS with this command : sudo apt-get install ros-indigo-freenect* Now I was ready to install the Avin2/SensorKinect drivers from github. Note: these are made to work with openni which I just removed, but they seem to work for freenect also. I went to the Avin2/SensorKinect github repository and followed the install instructions.
